At Help Mental Health, we pride ourselves on our Child and Youth Mental psychotherapy and counselling services, led by experienced mental health professionals who work hand-in-hand with both education and medical authorities throughout the United Kingdom.
Our top priority has always been the well-being of children, young people, their families, and school staff, we hold the expertise and dedication needed to deliver the support they need to thrive.
THEIR FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS.
Services in schools
Help Mental Health offers Mental Health Education and Awareness Programmes, Therapy Provisions, in Primary, Secondary, and 16 + plus education throughout England, Scotland, and Wales.
Additionally, our approach includes the creation of ‘Mental Health Safe Spaces’ within schools by providing confidential and approachable psychotherapy provisions through professionals in each school.
Our mental health professionals work closely with pupils, their families, and staff to improve the emotional wellbeing of the pupils, and to offer mental health support to those who need it without delay.
Safe Space counselling
We understand the importance of confidentiality and a safe space to express worries and anxieties and ensure to consistently and professionally provide this reassurance to our young service users.
The most common reasons for the visits in our safe spaces are mood swings, anxiety, bullying, difficulty focusing, challenges with their family, low self-esteem, and depression.
We work collaboratively with pupils, families, and school staff and aim to provide both the school and pupil with the support, therapy and skills to cope with and alleviate these challenges and promote positive mental health and a positive schooling experience.
Help us help others
Share the opportunity to learn for free with your network
The ‘Chat your truth’ initiative provides a regular safe space for Children and Young People to express how they feel and voice any concerns to trained professionals, in confidence.
The Help Mental Health Team is there to support them; whether they are seeking guidance in understanding their emotions, or they are feeling unheard or misunderstood at school or at home. Help Mental Health is able to assist in finding techniques to improve their well-being, and provide support through any challenges they may be facing.
Walking with Leaders
Our once a month walks which take place in different locations around the country are an opportunity for our service users, their families and friends, to gain advice and share experiences with our trained professionals whilst enjoying a physically healthy and relaxing activity.
These walks are also pivotal in raising awareness of Mental Health to the public and garner further support. Anyone wishing to join should look on our events section of the website fr the next date and location. Any corporate enquiries, please contact our Fundraising Team.
Together we’re stronger
Our Group Training Programmes and Activity Fun Days are designed to promote inclusivity and social interaction, whilst having fun.
Isolation and Anxiety are proven to further Mental Health distress, and these activities have been created to combat these very issues.
We also use these as opportunities to enhance confidence through real life scenarios that cause anxieties to the service users, from interviews to ordering a meal.
Gaming and Social
We run Community Outreach Programmes which educate Children, Young People and their families on positive use of Social Media, and the dangers that are specific to it.
We use the mode of ‘Gaming’ an activity popular with most children and Young People to strengthen their knowledge on the dangers of Social Media, such as Online Bullying and Grooming.
These programmes and talks can be delivered directly to schools, Youth Clubs and events, please contact our Outreach Team if you would like further information.
Guidance, training and safeguarding advice for staff
Help Mental Health provide guidance and training through our in-house professionals to School staff on matters relating to Safeguarding to ensure the correct implementation of the health, safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
Chat Your Truth
We create safe places for young people to come and speak freely and get advice.
